Like so many people born in the first generation of the 20th century, Alden Ball Dow was an active contributor to the world around him.  He was a man devoted to his family, community and his profession, believing it was our duty to contribute and give back to the world.  Although best known as an organic architect that influenced the way we think about the built environment, his contribution spans much further into our basic human need to create and surround ourselves with beauty and quality, thus ensuring the ultimate human experience.  Below is a time line of his life that illustrates the incredible personal and professional triumphs and challenges that shaped and guided him in his life.
