ARCHITECTURE

Architecture – We are fortunate to have film footage of so many Alden B. Dow’s designs.  In the 1960s he captured these interior and exterior views of his home and studio, several Midland structures and others throughout Michigan and beyond.  The Midland Center for the Arts and Delta College are showcased at their beginnings.  Sit back and enjoy close ups of construction, people enjoying the exquisite built environments and even catch a couple glimpses of Mr. Dow himself.

Friends, kids, grandkids, what’s not to love?  We all have home movies but rarely sit down to watch them.  Alden and Vada Dow enjoyed capturing their treasured moments as parents and grandparents just like everyone else.  These films take us back as early as 1947, to when their kids were 12, 10 and 6, enjoying life at home and at Higgins Lake.  We even see Alden B. Dow snowmobiling with family and friends at their cottage.
