Alden B. Dow was a master at understanding people and meeting their creative, individual needs by designing environments that enhanced their quality of life. He was the first person to change or modify something if it added to improving the function or beauty of a structure, thereby improving the quality of life for those who inhabited it. Please join us as we experience incredible examples of homes designed by Dow, but updated, modified and renovated by current owners to meet patterns in living while enhancing the design concepts of this master architect and philosopher.

A. Ultimate Travel Tour
Tour Times: 12pm to 4pm
We are excited to feature three original homes designed by Mr. Dow that have been updated and renovated by the current owners to meet today’s patterns in living and working. Each structure has been updated with careful and thoughtful appreciation of the mid-century modern design that made it unique while at the same time, infusing the personalities and individual ways of living and working of each owner. Careful planning, updated materials, and exceptional craftsmanship are the unifying traits of all three renovations. These renovations of these three homes illustrates how “real housing should be a living, growing part of us.”You drive to each structure yourself, a change from previous years, and docents are stationed around the homes to give you information about the structure. This is a great way to see the architecture up close and spend time looking and understanding the design and individual elements. Please print out your confirmation email and bring it with you to each residence. Each guest is allowed 1 entry per residence and may choose the order they visit them in during the 4 hour time frame of 12pm to 4pm.

Be ready to be delighted with this in-depth, docent guided, two hour tour of the Alden B. Dow Home and Studio including all the extras: the roof, the tunnel, the terraces, and more. Tours begin at 315 Post Street at the tour time you reserve in advance. Please print out your confirmation email and bring it with you and our reception will check you in and direct you to your guide.

Home and Studio Tourist Policies and Procedures
- Home and Studio Parking: Tour parking is behind the old Post Street School.
- Photography: We allow exterior photography but not interior photography.
- Travel Tour Homes- No Photography permitted
- All homes have level changes and are not required to follow ADA guidelines. Tours are not wheelchair accessible.
- We provide a secured closet to lock up purses and handbags, and other personal belongings that we do not allow to travel through the Home and Studio.
- Length of tour is approximately an hour and a half to two hours.
- Children must be 8 years old to attendtour.
- Student Age pricing is 8 years to traditional college age of 23 years old.
- Valid College ID required at check-in.
- If cancellation becomes necessary,5 dayadvance notice is required for full refund.
- Travel Tour Parking on city streets please do not block neighbors driveways.
- Confirmation Emails are required as your entry pass
