The 1950s

The 1950s were a time of great advancement and expansion throughout our country and Midland was growing with it.  The three houses presented on our Autumn Reflections Tours represents the era of prosperity and the boom that is synonymous with the 1950s.  Each house was designed with personal and professional entertaining in mind.  All three of these designs capture Mr. Dow’s ability to create gracious, warn, interesting environment that are simultaneously expansive and intimate.

You drive to each structure yourself, a change from previous years, and docents are stationed around the homes to give you information about the structure.    This is a great way to see the architecture up close and spend time looking and understanding the design and individual elements.
