NEW: Mid-Century Modern Midland Book
The Alden B. Dow Home and Studio and the Mid-Century Modern Midland organization are pleased to announce the release of their new book, Mid-Century Modern Midland.
The stunning 244-page coffee table book chronicles Midland’s unprecedented architectural legacy and validates Midland, Michigan as the Mid-Century Modern (MCM) City of America. The book was compiled from multiple years of research, gathering information from building owners and families, and incredible assistance from community volunteers who helped document the city’s MCM history.
MCM architecture is woven into every part of the Midland community—not just one neighborhood but the entire city. This architecture is part of our daily lives and how we live. Midland’s MCM legacy, including the architects and designers who made it possible, defined an era of simplicity, utility and modernism that should be shared and celebrated.
